IT SUPPORT IN THE PLATINUM GROUP - A Team Member Communication

The rapid evolution in the world of IT has caused us to think a little differently about how to work with it going forwards to the benefit of all.

In response to some review discussions we've had with our Group IT Manager Paul Jones, we're pleased to announce that we've agreed to pursue a "hybrid" version of IT Support; instead of employing IT Assistants to help him, we've enlisted the help and expertise of Grapevine Communications alongside him to carry out this crucial role.

Grapevine Communications are a known entity to us in that they've supplied our mobile devices for many years and are based locally.

The way IT Support will work in the future can be summarised as follows;

  • Paul will remain as the primary contact in terms of IT.
  • Grapevine's initial scope will be concentrated on our Microsoft Azure portal that we all log into, increasing security and insuring compliance with the Cyber Essentials + standard.
  • Grapevine will also be able to support our Windows operating systems as well as pc and laptop hardware.

The aim is to increase their scope over time to encompass support for our franchise specific systems as well as our third-party software.

For the time being, please continue to log calls in the usual manner by emailing helpdesk@platinummg.co.uk; Paul can then review the ticket and decide if Grapevine or himself is best placed to resolve the issue.

Though this relationship has already begun, it is still in its' infancy, and we look forward to fully implementing the assistance of Grapevine over a period of time.

We will obviously communicate any further developments on this, as and when required.
